Our Story
Javamate Coffee Roasters was born from a simple passion for great coffee at home.
Founded in 2025 by Eric, whose coffee journey began when his friend Chad introduced him to home roasting in early 2024. What started as curiosity quickly became obsession as Eric discovered the incredible difference fresh-roasted coffee could make. He began with the most basic setup imaginable—roasting beans on a cast iron skillet on his stove—determined to understand every aspect of the roasting process.
The skillet method taught Eric valuable lessons about coffee, but also its limitations: uneven roasts, temperature control challenges, and tiny batch sizes. After experimenting with various methods, he invested in a proper roaster. Suddenly, Eric found himself with an abundance of exceptional coffee and a burning desire to share his passion. That's how Javamate was born—from one person's journey to perfect the home coffee experience and the natural desire to share that joy with fellow coffee lovers.
The name "Javamate" reflects our belief that coffee is more than just a beverage—it's a companion through life's moments.
